My brain hurts.

My brain hurts. This is something my family hears from me often. It means one of two things, either I have a headache or I'm tired of thinking about something. I think today, it means a little of each. Ready for my first confession? (You sure?) Ok, Im TERRIFIED of my kids getting sick. Not just the usual worries, but Im really scared of my children getting ill. Goalie is 13 and Skater is 8. They don't get sick often, but when Skater gets sick, its BAD. I think I get all freaked out because when Skater was 2, he got scarlet fever. Yeah, I thought that was just a Little House on the Prairie illness, but it's real and it's now and it's terrible. Imagine having a 2 year old that was not only VERY sick, but couldn't walk because the bottom of his feet blistered from the fever. It was unfun and very scary. Now every time he has the sniffles I got into hyper-mom mode and freak out. I know he'll be fine, he'll do what he always does which is sleep on his floor for a few days and watch his Ipad. But as a mom, it still terrifies me. Right now there's a stomach flu going around and that's a whole new plane of scary for me.
Meanwhile, I've been trying to keep my kids from getting sick so hard that I've gotten sick myself. I have some weird sore throat/headache thing going on. Hopefully after I get the kids home from school, I can get some sort of nap. I have to work at Joann this Saturday and I really want to be there to dazzle others with my fancy crochet skills. Wish me luck.

My Calendar says 1/364

Here it is, the night of New Years Day. One of my big resolutions this year is to become a great blogger. I guess it all begins with a single post. My first post should begin with an introduction and my aim with this blog.
     Here goes:
First and foremost, I am a mom. Better yet, I'm a hockey mom. I have an older boy, we'll call him Goalie. I also have a younger son, we'll call him Skater… and of course, Im married to the Coach.
Why did I call my blog She Double Hockey Sticks? Im a mom living in a house full of hockey boys. Sometimes it can be hell. Ever smell a hockey bag or drive 40 minutes into hockey practice only to remember that the sticks or jerseys are skates are at home? Yeah. Not pretty.
I plan on just documenting my life here on my blog. The good, the bad and the hockey. Besides being wonder mom, I also cook, craft and watch too much TV. So sit back, relax and read all about my amazing family.

Happy New Year!
